Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years required License: State License required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FHM, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Meditech experience required Description: The position requires a minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery. Candidates must possess a state license or a compact license at the time of application. Certifications in ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FHM, BLS, and NRP are mandatory. Every other weekend shift is required. The nurse will be responsible for assisting with various procedures including arterial monitoring and management of fetal heart rate patterns. Experience in high-risk delivery cases is essential. Proficiency in performing sterile vaginal exams and using internal and external fetal monitoring is required. Candidates should have experience in labor management, postpartum care, and neonatal management. The role encompasses working in an antepartum setting as well as participation in surgical cases. Knowledge of high-risk antepartum, LDRP, and mother-baby care is preferred. References may be required for verification of experience and qualifications. The unit operates with a specific patient ratio standard as guided by AWHONN. Interdisciplinary care teamwork is expected, involving various health services. The daily census typically includes neonate and adolescent patients. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
