Must-Have: - Meditech EMR experience required - Floating to 4 Med
unit dependent on needs - Ability to float from emergency
department Description: This position requires the nurse to work in
a medical-surgical and telemetry unit. The nurse will care for
surgical patients excluding cardiac cases. Common patient types
include orthopedic, neurological, trauma, general surgery, and
urology patients. The nurse will provide pre-operative and
post-operative care. Patient ratios are 1:6 on a 40-bed unit. This
unit has an interdisciplinary support team that includes IV teams,
physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The
role involves the use of various medical skills, including IV
therapy, wound care, and medication management. Weekend shifts are
required, with coverage typically every other weekend. The nurse
will be responsible for following isolation precautions and
administering medications such as heparin and insulin. Experience
with rapid response and code teams is essential for this role. The
nurse will utilize various equipment, including lift systems and
bariatric beds, in the patient care environment. Candidates must be
within a specific radius of the facility to be considered.
