Tech. The unit is an adult hospital with ICU and ED department.
Imaging department staffing includes various techs including CT
techs. CT shifts on weekends are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM for
coverage. The majority of CT patients are adult ED patients, with
some pediatric scans possible. Adult inpatients are also scanned as
ordered. Estimated ratios are provided but are not guaranteed.
Equipment used includes Siemens Somatom Plus 128 slice CT. The
electronic medical record system is Meditech, and PACS is FUJI
Synapse. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently
and effectively problem-solve. Candidates with Siemens scanner
experience and 2-3 years in CT are preferred. Ability to back up
X-ray is necessary when the X-ray tech is unavailable. Typical
procedures include CT Head, cervical spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis,
CTA studies, and stroke protocol. The best personality fit is
someone who can adapt to varying department activity levels based
on ED patient load. Dependability and punctuality are highly
valued. The department fosters a family-friendly atmosphere and
facilitates quick orientation for new staff. Black scrubs are
