HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern for our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), who is eager to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced nursing staff. This role is ideal for a nursing student who wants to specialize in cardiac care and is committed to providing the highest level of care and support to patients recovering from cardiac procedures, heart attacks, and other acute conditions. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from some of the most skilled nursing professionals in the industry and work in a facility equipped with cutting-edge medical technology. Assist registered nurses and medical staff in the delivery of patient care specifically tailored to cardiac conditions. Monitor patient vital signs, including EKG readings, and report any changes to the attending nurse. Support the care team with updating patient records and documenting care provided. Prepare and administer medications under supervision. Participate in patient and family education regarding post-hospital care and management of cardiac conditions. Strong foundational knowledge in cardiac care and general nursing principles. Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic proficiency with medical software and electronic health records. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
