EEC COORDINATOR - Full Time ($12-$14/hr depending on experience)

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Sr. Dir of Childcare & Mission Advancement, the EEC Coordinator will provide direction to the Early Education Center (EEC) and implements and evaluates program curriculum and staff in the classroom. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

KNOW HOW

This position requires either an associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with a minimum of one year experience in a licensed center or preschool. This person must be eligible to be Program Director qualified by the State of Kansas regulations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience and the ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities. This person must have a valid Driver's License and must be at least 21 years of age. The candidate must have good communications skills. Must take all mandatory CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen Training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Lead, manage and be accountable for the Early Education Center (EEC). * Directly supervise Lead Teachers and Assistant Lead Teachers. Responsible for hiring, training, developing, scheduling, and directing personnel as needed. * Responsible for management of EEC enrollment and waiting list to ensure classes are at capacity and current on payments. * Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility and demonstrating professional conduct at all times. * Must be knowledgeable in and stay within Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) licensing regulations. * Complete required in-service hours for community partner and/or state regulations to maintain certification and meet compliancy requirements. Ensure that all staff meeting training requirements. * Daily communication with the staff, parents/guardians and supervisor. * Manage all classroom supplies and equipment. * Schedule enhancement activities and family socials. * Help coordinate fund raising projects throughout the year. * Assist with all personnel matters along with the Sr. Dir of Childcare & Mission Adv. and Human Resources. * Work with designated partners on all areas as required for grants, support and needs of our children and families. Includes, but not limited to Child Advocacy & Parenting Services (CAPS), USD 305 Heartland, etc. Meet all deadlines and requirements for partnerships. * Observation and mentoring classes monthly. Sub for teachers as needed. * Assists with the management of budget in controlling expenses. * Actively participate in staff leadership activities, meetings, committee meetings as requested. May represent the Y on community committees or calls regarding early education. * Must sign the Salina Family YMCA Code of Conduct, Emergency Procedures, and Employee Handbook agreements. * Follow all YMCA policies and procedures. * All other duties as requested.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees must follow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCA and KDHE. Employees must be able to lift a fifty (50) pound object, remain alert, move to various locations, communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distances, identify noises of distress, ability to handle irate, complaining, or demanding individuals without internalizing or personalizing comments made and can make sound judgments and decisions, even when distracted by noise or activity. Employees must have their CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire and maintain active certifications though the duration of employment. Must also be comfortable sitting in very low chairs and on the floor. Employees must have the physical capability of being active with children.
